A Good Day

Today was one of those days that just leaves you smiling.

First, my amazon order arrived...

Although, seriously, look at how awful a packing job they did! They just tossed the books in and added some brown paper. Poor books. :( Now they'll be loved. (the books are: The Rest Falls Away and Rises the Night by Colleen Gleason, The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio, Marked by P.C. and Kristin Cast, and Lud-in-the-Mist by Hope Mirrless; I'll talk more about them later).

Then, I finally broke and bought a poppet! Actually, two poppets: I wanted the Little Purple Poppet to have a friend, so I also got a Little Black Poppet. (if you have no idea what I'm talking about, go here, and if you know what I'm talking about and want to get one, go here.

Now, I've decided to wait to review Coraline until the poppets come in, so I can take a picture! Yay!

Then, I spent seven hours with a good friend who I hadn't really seen for a couple a weeks. Good day. :)

It sounds like a great day :) I read Lud-in-the-Mist earlier this year and I LOVED it. I've been meaning to read "The Decameron" for a long time. I look forward to your review of it.

I also gave in recently and bought a Poppet, a purple one. You're right though, it needs a friend to keep it company. I'd be a terrible Poppet parent if I didn't buy another one to keep it company :P

A very good day! I can't believe that packing job. I've never seen Amazon muck it up quite that bad.

And I just bought my first poppet, too! A little Red, and now I want a Black one (The Red and the Black...whahahah <--- evil bookish laugh). And, of course, I can't find my memory card reader to get the pics off my camera. Bah!

Awesome books! Amazon usually does such a good job with their packing...you must have gotten a slacker :/ I've been wanting to read Lud-in-the-mist for a while now...looking forward to your thoughts on that one! The Gleason books are awesome :) You'll like those!

Good idea to wait on the Coraline review...poppets make everything better ;) Coraline is great, I have to reread that one soon. I can't wait for the movie next year!

I love getting books in the mail! And you even got poppets (I've been wanting one...or two as well, but I haven't yet given in). Sounds like you had a good day all around!

Nymeth, I'm excited about reading Lud-in-the-Mist. I got the Signet version of the Decameron, because I've heard it's the best translation. You have a poppet too?! Awesome! It does need a friend. ;)

Stephanie, I'm excited!

Andi, the red ones are so cute; I definitely want one eventually. You should get a black one too-and then take a picture with The Red and The Black. Brilliant!

Chris, yeah-usually I'm so impressed with Amazon paciking so it was surprising.

Danielle, I've been trying not to give in for months now. I finally lost will power. Let's see how long you last! lol

Tanabata, Carl must've put something in the water! I can't wait to see your purple and black ones. :)

Was it direct from Amazon, or one of their marketplace vendors? Because if I remember right, it seems like Amazon has always packed with those air pillows in the past.

Friday the 13 turned out to be a wonderful day for you. YAY! Neat that you got to spend time with a good friend. Hope you enjoy Colleen Gleason's books as much as I did.

I had never heard of Marked until I entered a contest. Lucky me - I won! Very excited to read it. I'm surprised about amazon's packing, they usually do such a good job. I've always been impressed.

Dewey, it was direct from Amazon. Which is why it's so weird-I've always had good packing with them. I was expecting the air bubble thing.

Booklogged, can't say that I loved Gleason's first book. But oh well!
